Tarantula owners started showing up half an hour before we officially started.

LA
When you see these gals start stomping around, they always draw a crowd.

LA
There were plenty of adult tarantulas to admire.

LA
Plus plenty of youngsters (called slings) to look at.

LA
Nick Palmer and Joe Mastous provided the expert knowledge everyone came to hear.

LA
Lots more tarantula fans showed up once the program started officially.

LA
Some tarantulas came caged.

LA
Others were more hands on.

LA
Many species are handleable.  Some are not.

LA
Not everyone should pick up their spider this way.

LA
No reserved seats, standing room only.

LA
Microscopic exams of sheds showed how to distinguish the sexes.

LA
They look much larger under the "scope."

LA
This is how you do it.

LA
We opened up our tarantula cabinet for attendees.
